Pricing built around your practice

Volume-based and predictable — targeting 70-85% lower 3-year TCO than legacy on-prem and 50-60% lower than typical cloud PACS.

Do the math

Comparable clinical utility at a fraction of enterprise total cost

Enterprise ophthalmology platforms often land in the $20k–$100k+ range for first-year costs when you factor in licensing, implementation, interfaces, and support. Cloud PACS vendors typically charge $0.50–$3.50+ per study.

CurateMD targets $0.22–$0.36 per study at typical clinic volumes — built for real clinic adoption, not enterprise procurement theater.

  • Low implementation overhead — onboarding in 2–4 weeks, not 6–12 months
  • Predictable storage tiers — transparent overage billing, no surprise fees
  • No interface ransom — standard device integrations included
  • Minimal IT burden — cloud-native with 99.9% uptime SLA

Pricing FAQ

Pricing

How is pricing structured?

Flat monthly fee based on imaging volume (studies per month), not user seats. Choose between CuraData Cloud (fully managed) or self-hosted deployment. Unlimited users included in every tier. This volume-based model targets all-in per-study economics of $0.22-$0.36 at typical clinic volumes — well below the $0.50-$3.50+ per-study range of many cloud PACS alternatives.

What counts as a "study"?

A study is a single imaging session for a patient: one OCT scan, one fundus photo series, or one visual field test. Multiple images from the same session count as one study.

Why is cloud more expensive than self-hosted?

Cloud pricing includes infrastructure, hosting, managed backups, automatic updates, security patching, and a 99.9% uptime SLA. Self-hosted shifts that operational burden to your IT team.

What is included in every tier?

Full platform access, diagnostic viewer, unlimited users, baseline storage, standard device integrations, and business-hours support. No hidden platform fees or per-user charges.

Deployment

How do I choose between cloud and self-hosted?

Choose cloud if you want zero IT overhead and predictable costs. Choose self-hosted if you have specific data residency requirements, existing infrastructure, or air-gapped deployment needs.

Can we switch from self-hosted to cloud later?

Yes. We can migrate your self-hosted instance to CuraData Cloud. Migration is scoped and quoted based on data volume. Most transitions complete within about a week.

What infrastructure do we need for self-hosted?

Linux server (physical or VM), minimum 16GB RAM, and SSD storage sized to your volume. Deployments can be on-premise, private cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), or hybrid.

Implementation

Is migration priced separately?

Yes. Migration is a one-time implementation fee scoped and itemized before signature — no surprise costs at go-live. Cloud implementations are typically lightweight; self-hosted is quoted based on your infrastructure.

What does implementation include?

Configuration, device integration, data migration from your current system, staff training, and go-live support. Cloud implementations typically complete in 2-4 weeks — compared to 6-12 weeks for typical cloud PACS, 3-6 months for enterprise platforms, and 6-12 months for legacy on-prem deployments.

Can we migrate historical data?

Yes. We migrate studies, patient records, and metadata. Scope and timeline depend on your current system and total data volume.

Contracts

What are the contract terms?

Standard agreements are annual with monthly billing. Multi-year discounts are available on longer commitments — ask us for details.

What if our volume exceeds our tier?

You can upgrade mid-contract (prorated). Occasional spikes are fine. Sustained increases mean it is time to move up a tier.

What if our volume decreases?

Downgrades take effect at renewal. We do not penalize you for temporary slow periods.

Data

How does storage work?

Each tier includes baseline storage scaled to your volume. Cloud includes managed backups and disaster recovery. Self-hosted uses your storage infrastructure.

Who owns our data?

You do. Your patient data, images, and metadata remain yours in both deployment models. Full export is available in standard DICOM formats.

What happens to our data if we leave?

A 90-day transition window includes data export assistance. We can coordinate with your next vendor. No exit fees.

Integrations

Are device integrations included?

Standard integrations with major ophthalmic devices (OCT, fundus cameras, visual fields) are included. Custom or legacy interfaces may require a one-time fee.

What about EHR integration?

HL7/FHIR integrations are available for both deployment types. Basic image launch is typically included; bidirectional sync is usually an add-on.

Support & Security

What support is included?

All tiers include business-hours support. Growth and Enterprise include priority SLAs. For self-hosted, your team handles infrastructure while we support the application.

Is HIPAA compliance included?

Yes. BAA execution, encryption, audit logging, and access controls are included at the application level. Self-hosted teams remain responsible for infrastructure compliance.

Are there additional security fees?

No. HIPAA safeguards, security reviews, and SOC 2-aligned controls are included in the platform.

Evaluation

How should we compare cost?

Compare 3-year TCO: licensing, hosting (cloud) or infrastructure (self-hosted), implementation, support, and IT overhead. For a typical 1,000 studies/mo clinic, market research shows: CurateMD $8-13k, cloud PACS vendors $18-30k, enterprise platforms (Topcon/ZEISS) $35-55k, and legacy on-prem $45-75k+. Per-study economics matter too — CurateMD targets $0.22-$0.36/study vs $0.50-$3.50+ for typical cloud PACS.

How do you compare to cloud PACS vendors?

Most cloud PACS vendors use storage-tiered pricing ($400-$600/mo for 2TB plans) or per-study models ($2-$3.50/study). CurateMD is volume-based with unlimited users — no per-seat charges that inflate cost as your team grows. For a 1,000 studies/mo clinic, CurateMD typically costs 50-60% less over 3 years.

How do you compare to enterprise platforms like ZEISS or Topcon?

Enterprise ophthalmology platforms often have $20k-$100k+ first-year costs when you include licensing, implementation, interfaces, and support. Buyer-reported quotes for ZEISS FORUM range from $12k-$37k for software alone, before integration work. CurateMD typically costs 70-80% less over 3 years while providing device-agnostic integration across manufacturers.

Do you offer pilots or trials?

Yes. A 30-day cloud pilot is available to validate workflow fit. Pilot fees are credited toward subscription if you proceed.
